Tyranny vs. Liberty

Those who are close to me know that I'm a supporter of Julian Assange and his works on Wikileaks. I like the idea of how secret information of big corporations and powerful organizations is accessible for everyone, not just the power-that-be. It keeps the government in check and also history unaltered. However, having the ability to reveal these big secrets held and owned by powerful organisations also means that you are open to powerful threats. And what powerful organisation that has more secrets than the U.S. government? Wikileaks as a whole, and also Julian Assange as an individual, have received numerous threats from the U.S. government. Joe Biden, the current Vice President of the U.S. for example, has called Assange as a high tech terrorist and said that he should be treated as such.

Anyway, following this worrying event, Michael Moore, who is the American director and producer of Fahrenheit 9/11(the highest grossing documentary of all time), together with Tangerine Bolen under revolutiontruth.org, has come up with an idea of sending a letter to the U.S. President, Barack Obama, asking him to stop all the nonsensical threats and actions coming from his administration, and start practicing what the U.S. pontificates about and preaches so much to the outside countries: democracy and freedom of information. What is interesting about this project is that instead of sending a letter written on paper, they decided to do it in the form of a video, in which people from all over the world participate by reading the letter.

Being the bored, jobless person that I was, I decided to get involved with this project. I can't remember when exactly it took place, but the video is finally out. And I appeard twice in the video: once at the beginning and once again as the closure of the letter (hehe). Ignoring the fact that my hair looked horrible, I would like to encourage you to watch this video and pay attention on what is in the letter. Later on, if you feel that this is something that you believe in, you can sign on to this letter here.

Here's the video:
